Pauline Betz - The golden Set

Pauline May Betz, August 6, 1919 – May 31, 2011) was an American professional tennis player. She won five Grand Slam singles titles. She is but a handful of people to ever have a golden set where a person doesn’t lose a point in the entire set.

In 1942 she won the Tri-State tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio, defeating Catherine Wolf in the final without losing a point in the first set, a "golden set". She entered Wimbledon one time and won the singles title in 1946, without losing a set.
